When an order is placed in a currency other than the euro (€), an exchange rate is applied to convert the amount into euros. All sales are refunded by Artsper in €, even if a sale is made in $ by a customer to an American gallery with an account in $. Artsper applies the same exchange rate to convert the amount into € before issuing a refund.
The exchange rate used by the platform is adjusted to ensure it does not impact sellers with any variations during the refund process.
This rate is automatically integrated into our system and is updated every two weeks. The customer placing an order in a foreign currency will be subject to the exchange rate of that period.

If your bank account is in euros:
The exchange rate does not affect the seller. The seller will be reimbursed at least as much as if they had been paid in euros.
For example: if your seller account is in EUR and the order is in USD, we convert the amount to EUR using Artsper's rate, based on the EUR price you indicated when creating the listing. Thus, the reimbursement you receive in EUR will be at least equivalent to the total order amount in EUR as initially expected.
If your bank account is in a currency other than euros:
If your bank account is in CHF and the order is in USD, we first convert the amount to EUR using Artsper's rate to determine the refund amount since Artsper processes all refunds in EUR via bank transfer. It's possible that upon receiving this payment, your bank may apply a second conversion to match the amount to your bank account's currency and charge banking fees for this conversion.
